Reverend professor Adam Durak SDB (1949 - 2005), a renowned scholar, author of 8 books and over 160 articles published in many local and international magazines. Speaker and participant at many conferences and scientific seminars. His work has a great influence on the form of Department of Theology at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw (UKSW), of which he was a vice-dean for three terms. He was a known hermeneutics of liturgy specialist.
Soon after his death, an initiative developed to organize the award in his name to commemorate his person, his academic achievements, and his work on promoting young scholars working on the research in the area of theology.
